Monday, November 6, 2023 will be an eLearning Day only for our Six Mile, R.C. Edwards, D.W. Daniel High, and Project GO students due to remaining issues related to a water main break and probable water outages at these sites. Six Mile, R.C. Edwards, D.W. Daniel High, and Project GO students will not attend school in-person.
In an effort to provide parents with as much notice as possible, we are making this decision this evening for eLearning tomorrow (Mon. 11/6/23).
This decision was made after officials notified SDPC administration that the Greenville Water water main break that occurred last Friday has not yet been repaired and is affecting the water service in the Six Mile area.
eLearning Days allow students to make up days missed to inclement weather or other emergencies by completing a set of assignments within 5 school days (Nov. 13). For students in grades K5-12, most or all of these assignments can be completed on the student's school-issued Chromebook. Students in earlier grades may also be given a list of traditional assignments to complete within five days. Your child's teacher will communicate the details of the assignments for your child's class. Students who do not complete their assignments will be counted as absent for the day.
While the situation could change, our plan at this time is for students to return to Six Mile, R.C. Edwards, D.W. Daniel High, and Project GO on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
ALL other Pickens County schools will attend in-person.
For any questions or if support is needed, please contact your child's school as staff will be ready to respond as needed. We apologize for the short notice and thank you for your flexibility and cooperation.
