SDPC Unveils "Envision Pickens": A Bold Step Toward Career Innovation and Community Growth
Pickens, SC — The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) is proud to introduce Envision Pickens, an innovative initiative designed to equip students across Pickens County with the skills and opportunities needed for success in a rapidly evolving workforce.
At the heart of this transformative effort is the creation of a state-of-the-art career center, housed in the former 35,000-square-foot Pickens Middle School building on Sparks Lane. This facility will serve as a hub for career exploration and workforce development, offering students unparalleled opportunities to explore and prepare for their futures:
Innovative Career and Technology Education (CTE):
Project-based and targeted CTE instruction will be available for 3rd through 7th graders across the district.
Credit-bearing CTE pathways will be available for 8th and 12th graders in the Pickens area.
Workforce Development Partnerships:
Collaborations with colleges, universities, and local businesses will prepare students to meet the demands of the modern workforce while boosting economic growth in the Pickens area.
On-Site Childcare for SDPC Employees:
This facility will provide quality childcare services to support educators and staff, enabling them to focus on shaping the future of Pickens County’s students.
The anticipated opening is August 2026. This project is more than a facility; it’s a bridge to a brighter future. Best of all, this project comes at no additional tax burden to residents, demonstrating SDPC’s commitment to honoring its legacy while boldly innovating for tomorrow.
