Here is the newsletter from PTO:

Monday, April 8, is a normal school day for our district.
We recognize the importance of keeping our students safe during the solar eclipse as it coincides with our dismissal time. It is supposed to begin around 2:00 pm and end around 4:30 pm.
SDPC has purchased solar viewing glasses for all students and employees. We will hand these out on Monday before students go outside.
Since we are in an area where there will be only partial coverage of the sun, eclipse glasses will be necessary only when looking directly at the sun. Please emphasize to your child the importance of NOT looking directly at the sun without these glasses.
To provide options for our families, here are the attendance/dismissal options for Monday, April 8, 2024:
• Optional Early Dismissal - Pick Up by 1:00 p.m.: If you would like to pick up your child early on this day, please ensure that you sign your child out of school by 1:00 p.m.
• Principal Approved/Excused Absence: If you choose early dismissal or to keep your student home, your student will be counted as absent, but it will be marked as an excused absence.
• Regular Dismissal: We will operate a normal dismissal for students who did not choose the other options. We will dismiss bus students and car riders remaining at school as usual.
*Students who attend ASC will stay inside until 4:00 pm.
If you have any questions, please call the school office on Monday, April 8, at 397-2400.

Parents are welcome to pop by and make sure that all coats, hats, and jackets find their correct owner.
